What makes RYV Gel Polish different from ordinary nail polishes?

It may come in a nail polish bottle, but RYV Gel Polish is totally different from ordinary nail polishes that can fade, peel or chip quickly.

RYV Gel Polish offers a high gloss, damage-proof manicure with a stunning mirror-like finish that lasts for up to two weeks. It uses a special lamp to set the Gel Polish which means it dries in seconds. You don’t have to worry about hanging around, waiting for your nails to dry or smudging them afterwards – you can even put gloves on straight away without ruining your manicure!

Are RYV Gel Polishes tested on animals?

No, none of our products are tested on animals or contain animal products

Mixing Colours

Did you know that all RYV Gel Polish colours are mixable? You can create your own bespoke shades by putting a couple of drops of different colours on a piece of foil and mixing together before applying. The polish will not dry until you cure it. For the same reason, you can ’marble’ colours together on your nails – put some blobs of different colour on and then ‘swirl’ together with the pointed end of the manicure stick

You can still use normal nail polish on top of RYV Gel Polish. If you want a different colour for a night out, paint over your RYV Gel Polish with normal nail polish. If you then remove using acetone free remover, your RYV Gel Polish Manicure will be perfect underneath!

You can also use RYV Gel Polish for pedicures – it last’s even longer on toes as your toenails don’t grow as fast as your fingernails and tend to be more protected.

Should I shake the Gel Polish bottle before use?

Yes. Shaking the bottle helps to thin the viscosity of the gel polish, making it easier to apply and helping to spread the polish evenly.

My nails are still sticky after curing under the lamp

That’s fine – they are supposed to be tacky after every coat to stick the layers together, the wiping with RYV prep & shine wipes after the final coat will remove the stickiness.

How many layers do I need for best coverage

This will depend on the shade and personal preference.

Some colours cover fine in one coat and you may also want to use only one coat for a sheerer, more natural look.

Most shades need 2 coats and some people prefer 3 coats on lighter shades to get a more opaque finish.

You can also do one coat of White Lies as a base to make pastel and bright colours really pop!

Experiment with layering one colour over another can really change the look of a standard shade.

What's the difference between UV & LED lamps?

LED lamps use technology that’s similar but more efficient to UV lamps.

LED nail curing lamps set Gel Polish in under half the time of UV lamps. They don’t generate heat or emit UVAs or UVBs, and you don’t need to replace the bulbs like you do with UV lamps.
